What is remote water monitoring?
Remote water monitoring is the ability to receive instant updates on water quality in water treatment plants through the use of a product called the s::can spectro::lyser. This revolutionary product, an optical multi-parameter probe, continuously monitors data collection of water and will detect subtle changes in water quality. TSAG is employing the use of the remote water monitoring system supported by the Circuit Rider Training Program.
Remote water monitoring will provide a qualitative representation of the water quality (chlorine residual, turbidity, nitrates, and organic substances) instantaneously that will:
- Increase the health and safety of potable drinking water in Alberta First Nations;
- Create an added level of security for water treatment facilities;
- Mitigate the risk of water contamination;
- Create alarms to alert Operators/CRTP trainers in the event something goes awry;
- Add features to assist in reporting and regular maintenance.
